Social media personality Christine Tran Ferguson has opened up about some heartbreaking personal news. Her 15-month-old son, Asher Ferguson, has passed away after an emergency admission to the hospital.
The travel influencer, who blogs from her Instagram page Tour De Lust, has opened up about an immense loss in her life, the passing of her toddler Asher. Earlier this month, Christine shared a heartbreaking update and said that her son “was fighting for his life in the ICU”.
Christine Tran Ferguson confirms son’s death
On Thursday (July 20, 2023), Christine made a heartbreaking personal announcement on Instagram and opened up about the “unbearable pain” of the passing of her 15-month-old son Asher.
“My heart is utterly broken and shattered into a million pieces,” Christine wrote in her heartbreaking post. “I will never understand why, nothing makes sense, I’m still in shock, I just want to wake up from this unimaginable nightmare and have you back in my arms. Why is this happening to us, why Asher??”
“You did not deserve any of this,” she continued. “Losing you is the hardest experience mommy and daddy [have] ever had to endure. Every day has been torture without you, this pain is unbearable. I still feel like you’re going to reappear but our home is so quiet and empty without you. Part of me has died with you. I’m so heartbroken, with no idea how to live a life without you.”
Christine and her husband Ryan Ferguson welcomed their first child together in April 2022, nine years after the couple first met.
Christine said Asher was taken to the ICU
Further in her post, Christine thanked her followers for reaching out and asked for “privacy during this difficult time as we’re still in shock and still have no answers to this unbearable nightmare”.
In an Instagram post on July 3, the influencer revealed that Asher “was fighting for his life in the ICU” and asked for a health “miracle” from God to “save her sweet Asher”.
“We need you, we miss your laugh, your smile, we need you here with mama & dada,” Christine wrote at the time. “Please help us pray for our precious Asher who is fighting for his life in the ICU.”
At the time of writing, the travel blogger hasn’t revealed her son’s cause of death.
Tributes paid to Christine’s son
Thousands of people woke up to the heartbreaking news of Asher’s passing on Friday morning and many have paid poignant tributes and sent their condolences to the family.
“There are no words,” one Twitter user wrote. “I wish I could just give her a hug.”
“A pain like no other. So very sorry for the loss of Asher, May he rest in peace,” another person wrote in their tribute.
“So so devastating,” someone else said. “Absolutely horrible,” another user added.
