UPDATE: The mother of a missing teen has contacted Our Quad Cities News to tell us that East Moline Police have found her daughter, who is on her way home.

EARLIER: A worried mother has reached out to Our Quad Cities News to help find her missing teen daughter.

Chiquita White told Our Quad Cities News that her daughter, Emari Ellis, was last seen at 11:27 a.m. Friday in Moline around 26th Street and 12th Avenue. She is missing/has run away, the girl’s mother said.

Moline Police were notified and a report was made within 10 minutes of her last being seen “running away on my Ring camera,” her mother said.

Moline High School was notified. The school police liaison and a few of the staff have talked to Emari’s friends, “and none of them have heard from her,” her mother said.

Emari, 15, “has mental illness and may not be in a good state of mind,” her mother said.

Emari is 4′ 11″ and weighs about 107 pounds, has brown eyes and wears her hair in braids. She was last seen wearing a blue sweater with the Victoria’s Secret pink dog logo, a blue thermal housecoat, black jogging pants, white shoes and a pink hat. (You can see what she was wearing in the security-camera photo above.)

“She said that she was going to throw a bag of cat poop in the outside garbage and I realized about two minutes later that she hadn’t come back,” her mother says in a social-media post. She and her husband have driven around, checking both malls, restaurants and the school area, White said.

White asks the community to share the news about her daughter and to call police with any information or if Emari is seen.
